15 Minute Business Plan Outline
A compelling presentation on your business is a vital tool for any growing company. SDSI with the help of its Business Advisors has developed a presentation outline that can help you tell your story. This outline is a resource for you to help articulate your business value and business plans. Essentially this is your fluid business model, in presentation format that is suitable for potential investors and other stakeholders. It is the foundation of the SDSI Accelerator program and is an outline to developing a company’s 15 minute Business Plan Presentation.
5 Minute ‘Quick Pitch’ Business Presentation Outline
The ability to succinctly articulate your business opportunity in 5 minutes or less is instrumental to securing follow-up meetings with potential business partners, investors or stakeholders. SDSI has created this 5 Minute ‘Quick Pitch’ presentation outline that incorporates the relevant information from your full 15 Minute Presentation. Remember the “star” of the 5 minute presentation is you the presenter, not the slides, the slides should only be a supplement and should not distract listeners from what you are saying.
Scorecards - Feedback at each milestone panel of the Accelerator program is provided live in real time, as well as aggregated and provided in a more detailed digital format to the entrepreneur and their mentor team. Below are the scorecards with the various points mentors will be using to score each presentation. The scoring is for feedback purposes only, and doesn’t contribute to whether or not you graduate the program.
Process Flowchart - Want to know what step is coming next and what expectations are for the next milestone? This chart has the answers.
Executive Summary
The Executive Summary may be the most important part of your business plan. It is the first and sometimes the only part potential investors and other stakeholders will read. While every executive summary is different, here are some tips for creating an executive summary for your business.
Due Diligence
This due diligence checklist was developed in conjunction with multiple SDSI partners and represents what potential investors or strategic partners may be looking for when vetting your business. Use this as a reference for what should be tracking and curating about your business - not everything on this list will apply to every business. You’ll work with your legal advisor during the Accelerator process to determine which parts of this list may apply to your business.
Elevator Pitch Examples
Call it the Elevator Pitch, the Cocktail Party intro, or whatever you’d like - what we’re looking for is a quick, concise introduction that makes your listener want to learn more. Here’s a few examples of past Accelerator grads who really nailed this assignment - though as most business owners/founders will tell you, this is always a work in progress!
