Michael Irwin

As co-founder/president of a cycling products start-up, public company CFO, VP Marketing, global strategy officer, head of sales, consultant, and board member, Michael Irwin has a broad perspective in business transformation. From his time in 40+ countries and working in a range of distribution channels, he’s addressed growth and innovation challenges across consumers, categories, customers, and geography.  He is principal of Bottle Rocket Advisors, a consultancy focused on helping clients grow revenue, improve profitability, and scale up. He serves as mentor with San Diego Sport Innovators, Chairmen’s Roundtable, and TrepCamp. He currently serves on the board of directors of Kitchens for Good. His prior board service includes Aztec Athletic Foundation (sports), Aztec Shops Ltd (retail), Canyon Crest Academy Foundation (education), Leukemia Society of San Diego (health), and VOZ Sports Inc. (sports).  He holds an MBA from Southern Methodist University, an MS from the University of San Diego, and a BA from San Diego State University. Irwin is a youth soccer coach, cyclist, and runner.  He’s completed the Boston Marathon and the Chicago, Marine Corps, and New York City Marathons, as well as the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, Spain.  He’s also co-author of a book called Cathedrals of College Football.
