Change (May Newsletter)

A long forgotten industry pundit once noted: “I am all for change, as long as it does not involve me!” Looking back over the trailing 24 months, its apparent that even those completely opposed to change are forced to capitulate. The roller coaster of denial, gave way to an amazing avalanche of sales, and now, somewhat post pandemic, we are settling in to see what the long term effects of the tumultuous change will bring. Our new work day will be re-defined. Our mode of transportation is being redefined. Our market channels are redefining themselves as we speak with the pendulum swing back towards quality retail. The classic employer/employee balance beam is tilted toward the employee. Will the “Great Resignation” stick? Is inflation here to stay? Will we find better domestic manufacturing or at least “local” manufacturing in near by Mexico? Will our end customer be able to continue to manage his/her day to include personal time for health and well being? The only certainty I see for the future is the simple fact that Genie of Change is out of the bottle, and its not going back. Where and what? No guess, but I can’t wait to see what’s coming!
