"Stop everything, Go to The Farmers Open at Torrey Pines!" (January Newsletter)

The PGA Tour “real” Southern California swing began yesterday and runs through Saturday right here. Grab your SunBum SPF 50, binocs and walking shoes and get to Torrey! There are several personal reasons to attend...killer views, amazing (really amazing) amenities, world class golfers…but there is also a much bigger reason: Supporting The Century Club of San Diego. Their presentation of San Diego to the global media market is invaluable..20 plus hours of prime time network TV and thousands more hours in global media support. The economic Impact of the event tops $34Million dollars and utilizes over 1200 volunteers. Most importantly, the profits are all donated to several charities throughout the County. Go to their website to see just how amazing the Century Club’s philanthropy is. Oh, and by the way, congratulations to the Century Club CEO, Marty Gorsich. Our Farmers Event is superbly organized. We know it takes a team, but teams need leaders. Props to Marty, job very well done.. See you there!

Throw It Down with Bill Walton Premiered this Monday
An alternative broadcast for the NBA starring SDSI’s Mr. Bill Walton, aired this Monday for the San Antonio vs Portland game. The broadcast was filmed at Bill’s house and followed a similar structure as the Manning cast, the alternative broadcast for the NFL’s Monday night football this year. In the alternative broadcast, Bill talked about the game from a very different perspective and had two very special guests and friends of his own on with him, NBA legend Julius Erving and Nike co-founder and chairman emeritus Phil Knight.
